Catgender

Most Common Catgender Flag by hueningafton

Catgender is a xenogender where one feels a gendered connection to cats or felines, or incorporates cats into their gender to better understand their identity. This could be related to alterhumanity, but the term is not specific to alterhumans. [1]

People who are catgender may feel like cats themselves, based on personality and how cats usually act. An example is someone’s gender may feel lazy unless provoked, and sometimes playful and soft. [2] This is one example of how catgender people might feel and does not apply to all catgender individuals.

Flag and Symbols[]

The pink, purple, and blue flag with a purple cat face was designed by X user hueningafton as late as June 18, 2020. Though the creator doesn’t approve, many people believe that the cat emblem on the flag represents unity and solidarity with other xenogender people.

The darker pink stripe at the top stands for feminine-leaning catgender people, and The feline/catlike feeling that comes from being catgender is represented by the light pink stripe. The middle purple stripe is for unaligned catgender people. Below that, the light blue represents gender nonconformity, along with gender non-conforming catgender individuals. The bottom darker blue stripe represents masculine-leaning catgender people.[1]
