Hypergonadism flag
Hypergonadism is an intersex variation in which there is a hyperfunction of the gonads. It can manifest as precocious puberty and is caused by abnormally high levels of testosterone or estrogen.
It can encompass aromatase excess syndrome, hyperestrogenism and hyperandrogenism,
This variation can be caused by gene mutations, liver or kidney diseases, infections, surgical interventions, autoimmune disorders, hormonal abnormalities, injury to one's glands, and encephalitis. It may also be caused by other intersex variations.
