Necrogender is a xenogender describing someone whose gender used to exist, but is now 'dead' or nonexistent. This can be due to a variety of reasons, such as trauma, making it a possible neurogender, life-altering events, or other causes. However, there is not always a reason as to why this has occurred.

Necrogender is believed to have been coined on June 24, 2014 by Tumblr user baaphomett.

The flag was created on September 12, 2015 by Pride-Flags on Deviantart. Flags for the modifiers were also made that day.
The colours were kept dark to symbolize the deadness of the gender.
