Romance-repulsed flag
Romance-Repulsed is a romantic stance that describes an individual who is repulsed by the act or concept of romantic interaction. The term is commonly used by individuals on the aromantic spectrum, but is not exclusive to the community.
Romance-repulsed individuals may find romantic activity undesirable, uninteresting, uncomfortable or generally unwanted. This is not the same thing as being aromantic.
Some individuals may be repulsed by the idea of personally engaging in romantic activity, while feeling favorable or indifferent towards romantic interaction that does not involve them or romantic interaction as a concept. The term romance-averse may be used to describe this experience instead.
Some individuals may be repulsed by certain romantic acts, while feeling favorable or indifferent towards other romantic acts. The term romance-ambivalent may be used to describe this instead.
Some individuals may be repulsed towards romantic interaction due to trauma or exhaustion. The term romance-drained may be used to describe this experience instead.
Romance-repulsed individuals may also identify as apothiromantic.

The term has existed within the aromantic community for many years with no clear first coining. The term was recoined for the purpose of providing a concrete source by AnonymousHermitCrab on the r/asexuality subreddit on April 27, 2022.
