The Transfeminine flag

Transfeminine, often shortened to Transfem or transfemme, is an umbrella term for individuals whose gender is partially or fully feminine, and does not correspond with their assigned gender at birth. This includes trans women as well as other non-masculine genders, such as androgyne.

Transfeminine individuals are often called MtF or M2F (male to female); however, this isn't always accurate as not all transfeminine individuals are binary women, nor are all transfeminine individuals AMAB.

Transfeminine individuals are typically AMAB, though they may also be AXAB or AIAB. An AFAB individual may also identify as transfeminine if their assigned gender is not the same as their gender identity. Although, an AFAB individual may instead identify as intrafeminine and/or adfeminine as one's gender identity.

Transfeminine is sometimes used as a way to describe anyone who is assigned male at birth and undergoes feminization, either though surgery, hormone replacement therapy, or other methods. Under this definition, men who take estrogen to attempt to appear more feminine would also be considered transfeminine.

The masculine equivalent is transmasculine, the neutral equivalent is transneutral, the androgynous equivalent is transandrogynous, the xenine equivalent is transxenine, the aporine equivalent is transaporine, and the outherine equivalent is transoutherine.
