Turian, also called Veldian, is a term for gay men and non-binary individuals that aims to be fully inclusive. It has many different interpretations as to what it means, though the most common definition is men-loving-men and/or nonbinary-loving-men (MLM and/or NBLM), and turian attraction is usually exclusive, however, m-spec turians (solians) are an exception to this.
Some may also define turian/veldian as the opposite of lesbian or the queer attraction to men, which is also a confirmed valid way of interpreting the term as stated in the FAQ section of the coiner's veldian carrd. Other interpretations could include non-women loving non-women, anyone who isn't a cis woman and is attracted to men (usually exclusively), and many others. The term is designed to be just as varied and open to interpretation as lesbian is, as it is considered the man-attracted equivalent to lesbian.
History & Coining[]

The word “Turian” stems from computer-scientist Alan Turing. Veldian was creates as an alternative term for those who prefer not to use labels that include people’s names. It stems from velds, southern African grassy plains with flowers and a lot of sunlight. (The sun is often connected to masculinity, and a lot of the flowers have meanings that stem from love and/or passion). Both terms can be used interchangeably.
